From tyres to treasures: how Orange Corners alumni are driving change in Ghana

Six months of acceleration at Orange Corners not only ignites ideas and lifelong friendships, it often results in business collaborations as well! In Ghana, two alumni from Cohort 9, FITA Autotech and Gold Coast Tokota, have joined forces to tackle waste.

FITA Autotech, a leader in sustainable mobility solutions, is collecting used tyres from its auto service stations and redirecting them to Gold Coast Tokota.
Gold Coast Tokota, a brand championing inclusive artisan craftsmanship, transforms these tyres into eco-friendly footwear and accessories.

This partnership is about more than recycling. It’s about:

  • Turning waste into resources
  • Creating jobs for skilled artisans, including those with disabilities
  • Addressing environmental and social challenges

More about the Alumni companies

FITA Autotech is the flagship service of Green Hopper Ltd, a pioneering green autotech startup elevating vehicle service standards and promoting sustainable mobility across Africa.

At FITA, we are transforming vehicle maintenance through our circular service garage network, offering eco-friendly auto solutions for both Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Electric Vehicle (EV) owners.

By leveraging technology and a subscription-based model, we provide modern repairs, waste recycling, and digital tools for tracking, financing, compliance, and rentals—serving individuals, families, and companies on the continent.

Gold Coast Tokota was established with the goal of incorporating tradition into each and every pair of footwear. It was born out of a love for conserving and promoting the rich tapestry of African traditions. We set out on our adventure with a great respect for the stories and workmanship found throughout Africa’s many cultures. Supporting eco-friendly fashion that doesn’t harm the environment. We are dedicated to sustainable practices because of this, and we source eco-friendly materials and reduce our environmental impact. You’re choosing to contribute to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future by choosing Gold Coast Tokota over just another pair of shoes.

Proof that when Orange Corners Ghana entrepreneurs team up, they don’t just think outside the box – they turn tyres into treasures and challenges into change!
